Wobbles usually does these but, your challenge is pick 3 cars from 3 different recently defunct brands with a total combined cost of under $35k. The companies must have gone the way of the dodo within the last 20 years, but the cars can be as old as you like.

Glas Goggomobil (I’d have to pay around $12k)

Kinja'd!!!

Heinkel Kabine (Around $15k)

Kinja'd!!!

Saab 96 (Up to $4k)

Kinja'd!!!

I’d have to use the remaining $4,000 to import the Heinkel and Goggo, as they’re impossible to find in the US. Assuming I could find them here, I’d spend the rest on a Panhard Dyna Z or PL17. There’s one for sale in Washington for $2500. I know that Glas, Heinkel, and Panhard (the car making part at least) have all been gone for more than 20 years, but I didn’t want to limit myself to former GM brands, so I ditched that rule.

Solid choices. As soon as I saw US->CAD I thought “there better be a TVR”.

The Aurora is a handsome car, plus it gets that sweet Northstar power. The 9-5 is great too.

I looked at a Saab wagon just like that when I was looking for a new DD. Everything felt loose in it, worn out. In the end I got a 2006 CRV and it is solid all around. It’s nice to sit up higher in traffic in the city, I can see wtf is going on now.

I was excited, I know a guy who runs a used car lot, gets lots of leased cars in a nice area. It looked awesome but the whole thing just felt loosey goosey. I really wanted an XC90 but they are too big for city garage parking and get worse mpgs. The CRV is good, does everything well and never breaks, I don’t have to care about it so much in the city which is nice.

It would become this. I have a 240Z which is great, I wouldn’t mind a Lancia. San Francisco actually has a lot of classic Alfas etc. and a very good mechanic has a shop full of them.

I know, I mostly just trolling. As you can probably guess from my above choices, there’s a bit of a gap between a Gran Fury and a Goggo. If I had to choose rule following answers, it’d be a Plymouth Valiant and a 1963 Mercury Turnpike Cruiser.

Oh thanks, yeah the Z isn’t done yet, the front needs a new hood and paint. I never take a close up pic of the front! haha. I like Italian but I used to have Vespas and they were such a pain, I can only imagine a Lancia! Mama mia!! That was mainly the gear change and the damn cables in those, so maybe a car is more like the Z. Oh its a V4, huh. I will keep my straight 6 I think.

2013 Suzuki Kizashi GTS

1968 Mercury Cougar

Suzuki is very dead here in the U.S. and it makes me sad, so I think it should count. If it does not count I’ll get a 1999 Oldsmobile Aurora.

TVR have been dead since 2005, but recently got new ownership - and now it looks like they’re coming back - with plans for a new model in the next few years. So while TVR were dead, they’re not dead for very long.

Honestly, I’d only go for both the Pontiac AND the Saturn if the Pontiac was a GXP coupe (very rare) and the Saturn was a Red Line convertible.

Not really seeing the sense of having two very similar convertibles at the same time, really.
